Companies like yours expect rapid connectivity and continuity of e-mail service. At a high level the solution was designed as a hot-standby e-mail system that engages when your primary e-mail system has been taken down by natural, man-made or technology-based disasters. It provides an uninterrupted flow of business-critical information between you and your customers, partners and employees.

Highlights

  • Can be deployed quickly and requires minimal human resource utilization

  • Provides transparent failover to existing corporate e-mail addresses

  • Provides enhanced security and reliability since it’s hosted at an IBM location

For some businesses, e-mail is used only for communicating with customers or suppliers and between employees. For others, e-mail drives revenue. Lose the ability to use e-mail and work can be seriously affected. For higher reliability of e-mail continuity, you've typically had to choose between high-cost, redundant systems or low-cost backups with long recovery times. There’s a better way.

This solution is designed to be an affordable, rapidly deployed, backup e-mail system that helps ensure that your organization maintains access to e-mail. It is designed to provide transparent failover to a Web-based e-mail system hosted in an IBM facility in the event that your primary e-mail system goes down. When activated, the solution notifies employees of the change in system via mobile devices and alternate e-mail accounts. Employees can access their e-mail via a Web browser and through their PDA devices. After the disruption is over, it synchronizes your primary e-mail system with all the e-mail sent and received while it was down.

Best of all, there's no hardware or software to buy and support. The solution provides rapid continuity and recovery at a cost and level of convenience that are designed to be in line with the needs of your business.
